Human Vengeance

The LORD said to him, “Therefore whoever slays Cain, vengeance will be taken on him sevenfold.” The LORD appointed a sign for Cain, so that anyone finding him would not strike him.

Genesis 4:15

“‘You shall not take vengeance, nor bear any grudge against the children of your people; but you shall love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD.

Leviticus 19:18

Vengeance is mine, and recompense, at the time when their foot slides, for the day of their calamity is at hand. Their doom rushes at them.”

Deuteronomy 32:35

Behold, today your eyes have seen how the LORD had delivered you today into my hand in the cave. Some urged me to kill you, but I spared you. 1 Samuel 24:10-15

1 Samuel 25:32-35

David said, “As the LORD lives, the LORD will strike him; or his day shall come to die, or he shall go down into battle and perish. The LORD forbid that I should stretch out my hand against the LORD’s anointed; but now please take the spear that is at his head and the jar of water, and let’s go.”

Romans 12:17-21

See that no one returns evil for evil to anyone, but always follow after that which is good for one another and for all.

1 Thessalonians 5:15

For we know him who said, “Vengeance belongs to me. I will repay,” says the Lord. Again, “The Lord will judge his people.” It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
